The List Keeps Growing

On Monday Alex had his turn with the allergy doctor. He had headaches every day, so his doctor sent him to the allergist. Alex never had hives or a rash . I never thought he could have allergies. Alex is having a very hard time with his new diet. He is allergic to: cow's milk, tomatoes, soy, chocolate, cats, dogs and dust mites.
If you have lost track of everyones food allergies here it goes:(keep in mind there will be a test!)
Jeremiah: watermelon, artificial cinnamon and cilantro
Margie: peanuts and corn
Alex: cow's milk, tomatoes, soy, chocolate, cats, dogs and dust mites
Elijah: soy, tomatoes, eggs, citrus, sea food, cotton trees, cats and dogs
Maya: cow's milk, wheat, oats, eggs, citrus, sea food, cats and dogs
That comes out to be 15 different allergies in a family of 5!
I was thinking that maybe this is a good thing. I have to be a better housekeeper to keep the dust mites down for Alex. We are eating a lot healthier and cooking is getting a lot easier.
Life is full of challenges and we have been blessed with 15 different challenges.

Oh Elijah

On Wednesday I was getting ready for Enrichment when I heard Elijah say" My nose really hurts." So I walked to him and he was picking at his nose. "Maya put two chocolate chips in my nose!" But when I saw his little nose bleeding I just panicked. I call the doctor and brought him right in.

The doctor looked at me and asked if Elijah would really let Maya put things in his nose? I just smiled and said yes! The doctor said" the chocolate chips melted or fell out and he is fine."

Elijah now knows that nothing can or should go into your nose or ears.

Aaron's 35th Birthday

Aaron came over with his girls, Laura and Kate. We helped Alex with a really hard frog puzzle. I made a gluten free round birthday cake. With bright red frosting, that looked more pink then red. Maya looked like a clown with the red frosting on her nose. We had fun hanging out as a family.
Happy Birthday Aaron.

Alex's Valentine Day Party

Alisa watched Elijah and Maya so I could go to Alex's school party. They had ice cream floats with red pop and decorated sugar cookies. The picture of the cookie was Alex's and the last picture is of Alex's teacher, Mrs. Weaver and me. (ok I took the picture so that is why it is not the best) Mrs. weaver is the best teacher!! This is Alex second year with her. Last year was hard and now we are working together to help Alex. Mrs. Weaver asked me to bring him back for 1 more year. I'm so glad I did.He now can help other students with their work. We are all proud of how well he is doing this year.
